Quilting Service

I would love to become your quilter of your next project. I have a great machine, and many designs from which we can create a really awesome finished project for you.

Starting 2011 I am not accepting any start to finish quilting projects. Start to finish means quilts made from the cutting
and piecing of blocks all the way through to quilting and binding. I do enjoy the challenge, but it takes so long that I get way behind on my other quilting jobs, so I just cannot take any from now on.

There are so many patterns now from which to choose that you would spend all day just clicking on designs, so instead of that, just let me know the following.
1. Do you want a floral? animal? geometric? heart, or feather design?  Do you hate any of the above choices?
2. Is your quilt for an adult or child? male or female?
3. Have you a deadline for getting your quilt finished?
4. Tell me the exact length and width of the quilt.
5. How many borders are on the quilt, and how wide are they?
8. Are you interested in an allover design, custom work, or heirloom work?
9. Sending a photo to me will help me see what will look great on your quilt.

Current 2011 prices:
Overalls: also known as edge to edge.
For just a true meander, price is just 1 cent per square inch.
Ex. An 80 inch by 100 inch quilt is $80.

For most of my designs including the one you see below the price is just one and a fourth cents per square inch. Ex. The same 80 inch by 100 inch quilt is $100.

I do have a few very dense designs that take a lot more work, so they are one and a half cents - two cents per square inch.

An allover PLUS separate border design is generally 2 cents per square inch. Ex. same 80 inch by 100 inch quilt = $160

Custom and Heirloom quilting is now charged at $15 and hour. I keep accurate time, but cannot tell you before the quilting starts what the total will be. It all depends on the time.

The patterns used to quilt this GFG were created by me and available for purchase. They are digitized patterns.

Note:  Quilts that are very poorly pieced may not be as nice when done as better pieced quilt tops, but one cannot do miracles, though I always do the best on these that is possible. Quilt backs must be at least 6 total inches wider than the quilt top, and at least 6 total inches longer also, and please be sure that you have squared them. If you send "just enough" to cover the extra 6 inches in length and the extra 6 inches in width, but then the back is not squared and I need to square it, we could potentially lose so much fabric in the squaring process that I would not be able to use the back you provided.

Thread: We can find a good color for your quilt from my 130+ colors.

Once you pick your pattern, and accept the cost/fees* then you can send your quilt to me. I will tell you my address and how to box and send your quilt when we chat.

If you wish insurance on it in the mail, please add it at your end when you are sending it. I will put insurance on it in the amount you specify before sending it back to you. I carry insurance on the quilts in my possession here in my studio so in case of fire or theft, you will get some financial satisfaction.

Minimum Quilting Fee is $35.

* If your quilt comes in with rippling borders, I assume you know it and just want it done.. If you want me to continue without fixing them, you must understand that there may be some stitched in wrinkles, but that will do my best to avoid them or ease them in if it is at all possible to do so. I you don't know if your borders ripple, and would like to know if I find it is a problem, please tell me you want to know before I do the quilting. How to tell if they ripple? If you lay your quilt out on a flat surface, you can easily see this because the quilt top cannot be made to lie flat. Don't have a flat area large enough? Try putting togther a bunch of tables
at your church and lay it out on them. Easier on the back than using a floor. smile.

Other Fees.

Batting, backing and thread fees are not included in the quilting fee. You are welcome to purchase your backs and batts wherever you desire: from other retailers or from me. I will use threads that I know work well. I do charge a small fee for threads. $1 a bobbin unless it is a specialty thread.
