Create Your Own Class For Your Own Needs
$15 an hour + the cost of supplies. You set your beginning time you want. You come here, and whatever you want to learn, we shall do. When you are finished you say so.
This can be a piecing class, or a machine quilting class.
Please bring some sort of medical insurance if you want to actually handle the rotary cutter or the machine, and please expect to sign a waver saying you will not hold me liable if you injure yourself. Bringing your medical card may be needed if you slip and cut yourself and need to go to hospital. That is why I remind you to bring it with you. The rotary cutter is quite sharp, and can create some very dangerous cuts. Instructions are given in handling it safely, but human error is possible. For my insurance purposes, I must have you sign the waver. These classes can be done as lecture and demonstration only if you are not comfortable with signing the waver.
Borders Class
Ever wish you could get help with setting on better borders? You set up the starting time with me. Bring over your pieced quilt top, your border fabric- uncut, and your sewing machine. I will walk you through the steps to putting on a straighter, flatter border. Cost is $15 per hour.
Learn to Make a Tee Shirt Quilt Class Learn to make the top yourself in a one-on-one class with me. You will save a LOT of money that way. Set the start time yourself. Bring your tees, your sewing machine, your thread, and yourself. I will teach you how to prepare the tees for sewing them into the quilt top, how to cut and sew on sashing, how to cut and sew on borders, and I will be right here to supervise you and help you while you get started. Once you know the techniques you will be able to head home and finish the work on your own. The class will take about 3 hours. Bring your own lunch if your start time causes the class to go beyound your lunch time. Cost is $15 per hour. Complicated setting of tees is discussed, but not done in this class so you can know how it is done if you want to do so on later quilts. This class assumes all tees will be cut to same size squares or rectangles for blocks.
Tie Quilt: I have designed a simple quilt that makes good use of ties. I am creating a brochure on how to do it now. I will have it ready shortly. If you would like to receive a copy or just learn a bit more about it, please send me an email and ask to be put on my email list to inform you when it is ready. Send me an email with subject, "Add me to your list for updates". to Kay@KaysQuiltingCorner.com
