I would love to become your quilter of your next project. I do not promise to be done speedily because I work carefully taking steps to do the best job I can on every quilt. I get a large number of custom quilts in and they are definitely not a day's worth of work, and sometimes one quilt can take a couple weeks all on its own. It just depends on the quilt and the extent of quilting needed to make it look great.
I have a great machine, and many designs from which we can create a really awesome finished project for you.
This year (2010) I am not accepting any start to finish quilting projects. Perhaps next year I may again take a few.Start to finish means quilts made from the cutting and piecing of blocks all the way through to quilting and binding.
There are so many patterns now from which to choose that you would spend all day just clicking on designs, so instead of that, just let me know the following.
1. Do you love feathers? hearts? animals? geometric shapes?
2. Is your quilt for an adult or child? male or female?
3. Have you a deadline for getting your quilt finished?
4. Tell me the exact length and width of the quilt.
5. How many borders are on the quilt, and how wide are they?
6. Do you need backing?
7. Do you need batting? Cotton? Cotton-poly mix, or a Polyester w/ low loft?
8. Are you interested in an allover design, custom work, or heirloom work?
9. Sending a photo to me will help me see what will look great on your quilt.
Pricing: allover patterns cost one and a half cents per square inch. Custom starts at double that price. A sampling of prices follows. If your quilt falls between two sizes below, the cost will also fall between the two costs. Sizes in middle row are in inches. An "allover" means just that. The same design is repeatedly stitched allover the quilt top. Custom means that there is a block pattern used in the blocks, a different pattern used in sashing areas, and even different quilting used in borders.

Thread: We can find a good color for your quilt.
Once you pick your pattern, and accept the cost* then you can send your quilt to me.
I will tell you my address and how to box and send your quilt when we chat.
If you wish insurance on it in the mail, please add it at your end when you are sending it. I will put insurance on it in the amount you specify before sending it back to you. I carry insurance on the quilts in my possession here in my studio so in case of fire or theft, you will get some financial satisfaction.
Heirloom takes custom quilting further by adding lots of background fill work in the quilt in addition to the custom work as done in the type above. My price for this starts at 4 cents per square inch.
Minimum Quilting Fee is $35.
* If your quilt comes in with rippling borders, I assume you know it and just want it done.. If you want me to continue without fixing them, you must understand that there may be some stitched in wrinkles, but that will do my best to avoid them or ease them in if it is at all possible to do so. I you don't know if your borders ripple, and would like to know if I find it is a problem, please tell me you want to know before I do the quilting. How to tell if they ripple? If you lay your quilt out on a flat surface, you can easily see this because the quilt top cannot be made to lie flat. Don't have a flat area large enough? Try putting togther a bunch of tables at your church and lay it out on them. Easier on the back than using a floor. smile.
